Dock Street: Cassidy’s apartment (“He lived near the Delaware, in a three-room flat that overlooked Dock Street and the piers on the river.”) Now the Society Hill Towers, except for the Man Full of Trouble Tavern (125-127 Spruce Street, Philadelphia)[N39° 56.6632', W075° 8.6356'], all of it is gone. Many references throughout Goodis novels to Dock Street/River Street slums; looking for traces of anything left from his day remains a dautning task that we love to do.

Man Full of Trouble Tavern: one of the few buildings still standing from the skid row days.

TODAY
On January 7th, 2012, Retreat To Goodisville descended upon A MAN FULL OF TROUBLE.  As it turned out there were lots of men and women full of trouble!
