PORT WASHINGTON, NY – He´s hard to love, but even harder to kill. "Hung"´s Thomas Jane ("The Mist," "The Punisher") stars as the tough-as-nails private dick Malone in the explosive new thriller, "Give 'em Hell Malone," a gritty flick from Aussie director Russell Mulcahy. Expertly blending old-school pulp noir with bullet-riddled action, "Give 'em Hell Malone" will make its U.S. debut on both DVD and Blu-Ray ($24.98 SRP each) from National Entertainment Media.
"Give ´em Hell Malone" follows the titular character as he comes into possession of a mysterious suitcase said to contain the "meaning of love." The case is of great interest to a local mob boss, and he dispatches a trio of eccentric--and deadly--enforcers, Boulder (Rhames, "The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard," "Day of the Dead"), pyromaniac Matchstick (Doug Hutchinson) and female assassin Mauler (Chris Yen) to take possession of it. What they didn´t anticipate was Malone´s resolve--and his Mateba autorevolver. As with all good noir films, tangled up in the mix is a bombshell femme fatale, played by the positively steamy Elsa Pataky (Giallo) who may prove more trouble than she´s worth. As the edgy plot plays out, things, of course, aren´t as clear cut as they seem and soon the film overflows with betrayal, blood and violence.
A 2009 production, "Give 'em Hell Malone" is presented in 16 x 9 widescreen with English SDH for the deaf and hard of hearing, as well as Spanish subtitles. The DVD features 5.1 Surround/2.0 Dolby Digital and the Blu-ray features 5.1 Surround Sound/DTS-HD Master Audio.
